SINGULAR FOR KIDS APPS

Compliant attribution for kids apps

Trusted to deliver the most extensive data, for optimized campaign performance

THE SINGULAR PROMISE

Built for kids app compliance, end to end

Kids app developers juggle more rules than any other category: COPPA, GDPR-K, the UK Children’s Code, Apple’s Kids Category, and Google’s Designed for Families. In addition, each carries its own data handling demands, and every rejection costs weeks. That’s why Singular bakes compliance into attribution, fraud prevention, and measurement, so marketing ships without surprises and legal signs off without exceptions.

Comply with COPPA, GDPR-K, and Apple’s Kids Category by default

Kids app configuration enforces every major child-safety standard automatically. Limited Data Sharing strips device-level identifiers before they reach ad networks. As a result, app store reviews pass without compliance flags.

Stop data sharing before it leaves the SDK

Specifically, the Limited Data Sharing (LDS) feature blocks any device data passing to Self-Attributing Networks (SANs) for kids apps. Marketers also control postback routing per network, with no automatic sharing anywhere.

Earn independent compliance assurance through PRIVO

We hold membership in the PRIVO Kids Privacy Assured Program. PRIVO independently audits data handling for COPPA Safe Harbor and GDPR-K. Kids apps therefore ship with documented compliance evidence reviewers accept.

Measure iOS performance through SKAN, the kids-safe iOS path

SKAN delivers aggregated, privacy-preserving postbacks straight from Apple. Singular supports full SKAN 4.0 without ever touching IDFA or any personal identifier. iOS performance measurement therefore stays compliant by design. Learn more about SKAdNetwork attribution.

Block fraud without using behavioral profiling

Kids apps face the same install fraud, click fraud, and emulator farms every other app does. However, behavioral profiling stays off the table for under-13 users. That’s why the Fraud Prevention Suite blocks attacks using server-side signals and aggregate detection. No user-level behavioral data required.

Connect cost data to performance without touching PII

Get cost data from 1,200+ ad networks, including kids-safe specialists like Kidoz and SuperAwesome. On top of that, granular ROAS and CAC reporting flows to the campaign and creative level. No personal identifiers required, ever. Learn more about cost aggregation.

The complete kids app compliance stack

Granular ROAS, SKAN measurement, data control, and PRIVO-assured compliance, all unified into one platform built specifically for child-directed and Kids Category apps.

DATA FOUNDATION

Stop data leaks before they happen

The Limited Data Sharing (LDS) configuration prevents Singular from passing device-level data to Self-Attributing Networks for any kids app. Marketers control which networks receive postbacks. No automatic sharing, no exceptions, no defaults that surprise the legal team.

DATA FOUNDATION

Compliance backed by independent audit

Singular holds membership in the PRIVO Kids Privacy Assured Program for COPPA Safe Harbor and GDPR-K. Independent oversight reviews Singular’s data practices on a continuous basis. As a result, kids apps ship with documented compliance evidence app stores accept during review.

OMNICHANNEL MEASUREMENT

iOS measurement that never touches PII

SKAN delivers aggregated, privacy-preserving postbacks directly from Apple. Singular supports full SKAN 4.0 with custom conversion value mapping and postback analytics. As a result, kids apps measure iOS performance the same way every other app does. No IDFA. No behavioral data.

DATA FOUNDATION

Block fraud without behavioral data

Kids apps face the same install fraud, click fraud, and emulator farms every other app does. However, behavioral profiling stays off the table for under-13 users. GOT QUESTIONS?

Compliant attribution for kids apps FAQ

COPPA stands for the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. It governs how online services collect, use, and share personal information from children under 13 in the US. For kids app marketers, COPPA does three things. First, it limits the use of persistent identifiers like IDFA, GAID, and cookies. Second, it restricts behavioral advertising. Finally, it requires verifiable parental consent for any data collection beyond app function. Singular’s kids app configuration handles every COPPA requirement automatically.

GDPR-K refers to Article 8 of the GDPR, which governs how online services treat personal data from children. While COPPA applies in the US, GDPR-K applies across the EU. Both regimes require additional protections beyond standard adult privacy rules. However, GDPR-K sets the threshold at age 16. Member states may lower it to 13. Parental consent requirements also vary by country. Singular’s kids app configuration meets both regimes simultaneously. As a result, kids app developers maintain one set of rules, not two.

Kids apps cannot use IDFA, GAID, or any persistent identifier without verifiable parental consent. Therefore, Singular relies on aggregated and contextual measurement instead. SKAdNetwork delivers iOS postbacks. Server-side aggregation handles Android. Meanwhile, campaign-level cost and performance reporting requires no personal identifiers. As a result, marketers still see ROAS, CAC, and creative performance, just without user-level data behind it.

PRIVO is an FTC-approved Safe Harbor program under COPPA. It also runs an independent assurance program for GDPR-K. As a member of the PRIVO Kids Privacy Assured Program, Singular submits to ongoing audits of its data handling practices. For kids app developers, that membership translates to documented compliance evidence app stores accept during review. It also reduces the burden of proving compliance to parents, regulators, and platform reviewers individually.

Yes. Performance measurement and compliance are not in tension when the right tools are used. SKAdNetwork delivers iOS attribution at the campaign and creative level without using IDFA. Server-side aggregation handles Android measurement without GAID. Cost aggregation pulls campaign spend from every network into one ROAS view. Furthermore, fraud prevention runs on server-side signals and aggregate patterns rather than user-level profiling. As a result, kids app marketers see the same metrics every other app marketer sees: ROAS, CAC, retention, creative performance. All at the campaign level.

Three differences matter most for kids app developers. First, Singular holds independent PRIVO Safe Harbor certification. Not every MMP carries it. Second, Singular’s Limited Data Sharing configuration is purpose-built for kids apps. It ships compliant by default rather than as an optional add-on. Third, Singular documents its compliance approach in writing for app store submission. As a result, kids app developers walk into review with evidence rather than assertions.
