Tell us about Ecosia
Ecosia is a Berlin-based company and is known as the search engine that plants trees.
And we invest all of our profits for environmental projects like planting trees and supporting local communities for restoration projects all around the world. So we’re mainly a search engine, but we are also a browser that is available on desktop and mobile apps.
Their Challenge
The adoption of Singular from a couple of months before I joined the company, and it was the first step towards a more structured approach to paid marketing for the app.
So after having scaled campaigns mostly on desktop and other channels, the company had the conversation about choosing MMP, and between the different alternatives, the choice was on Singular because of the promises of keeping our privacy setup safe while allowing us to test the other channels and simply perform attribution.
Because before that, there was not, like, a centralized system for attribution.
A single source of truth for marketing performance
The measurable result is that we finally are able to measure the impact of the campaign. So that’s already something that we were not able to see before.
One thing that has been like a staple, and it still is, with our partner Singular is the fact that we are very… we do have a specific setup.
And we’ve been treasuring the support when it comes to understanding what kind of user metrics can we use that can be compliant for both our internal setup and also the Singular one… so there’s this ongoing conversation on how we can make sure that we can enable more channels while keeping your privacy setup safe.
Singular helps us achieve…
Good results. Even if it’s like a very generic question, but it’s important for us that we know exactly, like, for a company, right… what the user… what’s the value of the users.
